Scope
The purpose of this standard is to establish the requirements that must be met and the tests to which low-alloy, high-strength structural steel must be subjected, with a minimum yield point of 345 MPa in thicknesses up to 100 mm, for profiles, sheets and bars used in welded, bolted or riveted constructions, but primarily in bridges and welded buildings when reduction in mass or increase in durability is important. This standard also applies to materials with thicknesses between 100 and 127 mm inclusive, with a minimum yield point of 315 MPa and for thicknesses between 127 and 200 mm inclusive, with a minimum yield point of 290 MPa.
