Scope: This standard specifies the method for the determination of the abrasion resistance of single-layer coatings or multi-layer coatings of paints, varnishes or related products. This test method is applicable to the determination of the abrasion resistance of single or multilayer coatings of paints, varnishes, or related products by dropping the paint onto the coating. Abrasion resistance is expressed by the amount of abrasive required to wear a unit film layer of the coating.
