This standard specifies the method for the determination of the static bond strength between fabric cords for tires and vulcanized rubber. This standard applies to cords made of natural or man-made fibers. The adhesive strength measured by this method is largely affected by the history of the cord and the preparation process of the rubber compound, but the data provided by this method can be used as a basis for judging the quality of the material used. This standard also applies to similar cords used in other vulcanized rubber products with a linear density not exceeding 800 mg/m² (tex).
