Scope: This standard specifies the software technical requirements for 10Gbit/s and 40Gbit/s optical transceiver modules with multiplexing and demultiplexing functions. It mainly involves the communication protocol between the optical module and the host computer and various types of command codes inside the optical module. , including the setting command code to control the working status of the optical module, the query command code for the performance of the optical module, the query command code for the optical module alarm amount, etc. This standard is applicable to the IC software communication protocol of 10Gbit/s and 40Gbit/s optical transceiver modules with multiplexing and demultiplexing functions. Optical modules with other speeds or other software communication protocols can be implemented by reference. This standard is only applicable to communication environments with low bit error rates (<1×10). The use of this standard is not recommended in communication environments with high bit error rates.
