- This standard specifies the measurement methods for the noise of rock drilling machinery and pneumatic tools. This standard applies to rock drilling machinery and pneumatic tools (hereinafter referred to as machines) powered by compressed air. Typical machines include: rock drills, drill trucks, impact crushers, air picks, air shovels, air shovels, tamping machines, rivets machine, rust remover, nailing machine, air grinding wheel, air drill, air trigger, tapping machine, air screwdriver, air scissors, air saw, air motor, air pump and air hoist, etc. It can also be used as a reference for rock drilling machinery using other power sources. This standard does not apply to machines that radiate isolated bursts of sound and machines that have a repetition rate of less than 10 pulses per second.
