This standard specifies requirements for size, rating, design, materials, marking and preparation for transport and storage of double flanged and wafer type butterfly valves with nominal pressure up to PN 40 and up to class 300, in the nominal size (DN) range of DN 40 to DN 2000. It also specifies test requirements for pressure testing, fire-tested designs and anti-static designs, and gives methods for pressure testing.NOTE This standard does not cover the installation of butterfly valves. Strict compliance with the instructions of the manufacturer is, however, necessary during installation.
