Scope

This specification covers the requirements for the materials, essential dimensions, finish, and performance for mortice locks and latches, rim locks and latches, and the associated lock and latch furniture. NOTE a) The titles of standards referred to by number in the specification are given in Appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in Appendix B. c) Except under the standardization mark scheme, assessment of compliance with the requirements of 3.2.1 requires special agreement between supplier and purchaser.
