Scope
This specification covers the requirements for three grades (see 3.2) of softwood flooring boards obtained from timber derived from trees of the genera Pinus, Cedrus, Podocarpus, and Cupressus grown in Southern Africa. NOTE a) The standards referred to in the specification are listed in Appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in Appendix B. c) The special attention of users of this specification is drawn to the information given in the preface. d) Except under the standardization mark scheme, assessment of compliance with the requirements of 4.10(g)-(j) (inclusive) and for adhesives requires special agreement between the supplier and the purchaser. e) Information regarding the verification of the quality of flooring boards produced to this specification, and a random sampling plan that could be used to assess compliance with the specification of a lot of the boards are given in Appendix D. f) If the provisions of this specification are incorporated into any law in terms of Section 33 of the Standards Act, 1982, the incorporation relates only to the relevant provisions for the commodity or its manufacture as stated in the specification but not to sampling procedures and other concepts and directives not material to the implementation of the incorporating law.
