This part of SANS 1582 specifies the characteristics of electrically operated floor polishers (including floor scrubbers and suction polishers) for light industrial use, that have motors of rated input not exceeding 2 000 W and a track width not exceeding 500 mm and that are intended for operation at voltages not exceeding 250 Vto earth.
2. This part of SANS 1582 does not cover safety requirements. The Compulsory specification for electrical and electronic apparatus, as published by Government Notice R1792 (Government Gazette No. 17548) of 8 November 1996, gives safety requirements that have to be complied with by all electrical appliances.
