This standard specifies the characteristics of stabilized constant voltage, current-limited type battery chargers, for a.c. voltages up to and including 525 V, with filtered or unfiltered d.c. output. The battery chargers are designed to charge a battery and, if so required, simultaneously to power the connected d.c. system load. In such cases, the battery charger can be used as a d.c. uninterruptible power system.
