This standard specifies the rules for collecting human body shape data using a three-dimensional surface scanning system, and the rules for using a three-dimensional surface scanning system to measure human body size items that can be extracted from three-dimensional scanning images defined in GB/T 5703. This standard does not apply to equipment that measures the position and (or) motion of a marker. This standard applies primarily to body scanners, but is equally applicable to body segment scanners (such as head scanners, hand scanners and foot scanners). The intended users of this standard include those who use 3D scanners to create one-dimensional anthropometric databases, and users of such one-dimensional anthropometric data. Although this standard is not aimed at designers and manufacturers of 3D scanning systems, it helps them better meet the needs of customers who build and use 1D anthropometric databases.
