- Scope
- This standard specifies the requirements, design and installation of hose fittings, isolation tubes and expansion joints used in refrigerant circuits of refrigeration systems and heat pumps. This standard applies to metal hoses, metal flexible hoses, non-metallic hoses, shock isolation tubes, and expansion joints in refrigerant circuits of refrigeration systems and heat pumps. This standard does not apply to hoses that are only occasionally stressed beyond their elastic limit (eg, during repair, or when connected to free-rotating or hinged joints).
