Scope: This standard specifies the main interchangeable dimensions and materials of eye plate and yoke assemblies and their connecting bolts or pins for marine tensile loads. This standard applies only to members of shipboard cargo-handling equipment subject to tensile loads (eg eyelet plates, tackle head devices, tackle brackets, cable mounts, turnbuckles). This standard does not apply to members subjected to lateral compressive forces or torsional loads (such as fork-type boom mount fittings connected to boom gooseneck pins).
