- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for measuring the sound attenuation of barriers used in offices, which are used to enhance the privacy of conversation, or to isolate noise between work positions. The sound attenuation of barriers measured in this standard can be used to distinguish the level of barriers. The levels determined by this standard do not apply to the actual situation where the sound source is close to the ground. Because the directivity of the actual sound source and the sound propagation characteristics of the barrier will cause differences with the results obtained by the method given in this standard.
