Scope: This standard specifies the performance test methods for household cooking, barbecue and similar portable electrical appliances. This standard applies to portable appliances for household cooking, barbecue and similar purposes. This standard defines the main performance characteristics of such appliances of interest to users and specifies test methods. This standard does not involve product safety requirements and performance requirements. Due to differences in time and test materials and components, as well as the influence of subjective judgments of experimental operators, when considering accuracy and repeatability, the test methods described in the standard are used in approximately the same period of time, in the same laboratory, by the same test method. Operators who use the same appliance for testing will have a higher degree of reliability than testing a single appliance in different laboratories. This standard does not apply to microwave ovens, ranges, cooktops, ovens and grills for domestic use, nor does it apply to appliances specially designed for commercial and industrial use.
