Scope

The scope of GB 16916.1 and GB 16917.1 applies. This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for Type B RCDs. The technical requirements and test methods specified in this standard are supplements to the technical requirements for Type A residual current devices. B-type RCCB and B-type RCBO can provide protection for sinusoidal AC residual current, pulsating DC residual current and smooth DC residual current when three-phase power supply is at or below 1000Hz. Type B RCCBs and Type B RCBOs of this standard cannot be used in DC power systems. The type test used for the manufacturer's declaration or conformity verification shall be carried out according to the test procedures in Appendix A or Appendix B of this standard. The complete test procedures for the type tests of type B RCCBs and type B RCBOs are given in Table A.1 or Table B.1.
