This standard specifies concrete external vibrators (hereinafter referred to as vibrators) for compacting fresh concrete from outside the formwork. This standard applies to powered vibrators that compact concrete by applying external vibrations. Vibrators are used in combination with vibrating stands, vibrating tables, surface vibrators, vibrating beams, etc. to compact concrete. This standard does not apply to centrifugal vibrators that are held in the hand and pressed against an object to be vibrated.
