Scope: This guidance technical document is to provide assistance to the standard setters of electrical accessories to help them consider the relevant environmental factors related to the "natural" environmental impact of electrical accessories when formulating standards. This technical guidance document includes any suggestions for unifying relevant environmental factors into product standards. It is not prescriptive and does not limit improvements. The term "environment" used in these technical guidance documents is different from the term used in national standards or IEC publications on the influence of environmental conditions on electrical products. These guiding technical documents are used to help standard makers consider relevant environmental factors. In this regard, the guiding technical documents are specific regulations on the application field of electrical accessories. It also helps them maintain a clear approach when considering aspects of these environmental factors and when examining possible interactions with normative requirements for the environment. At the same time, these guiding technical documents also help standard setters avoid making too simple or too strict requirements, which may not achieve a beneficial global effect.
