Scope
This standard specifies the category, general requirements, quality appraisal rules, test methods and documents to be submitted for Class 1E cables used in nuclear power plants. This standard applies to class 1E cables and wires for nuclear power plants, and it also applies to cables and wires in class 1E equipment for nuclear power plants. Class 1E cables for nuclear power plants include power cables, control cables, communication cables, instrument cables, thermal compensation cables, etc. The working conditions and functional characteristics of various cables are different. The special requirements for 1E-level nuclear power plants related to cable types are specified in subsequent product standards.
