1.1This Standard covers plumbing fixtures made of stainless steel alloys and specifies requirements formaterials, construction, performance, testing, and markings.Note: The term “corrosion-resisting steel” is also applied to stainless steel.1.2This Standard covers the following plumbing fixtures:(a) bathtubs;(b) bidets;(c) drinking fountains and water coolers;(d) lavatories;(e) shower bases;(f) urinals; and(g) sinks:(i) kitchen and bar sinks;(ii) laboratory sinks;(iii) laundry sinks;(iv) service sinks; and(v) utility sinks.1.3In this Standard, “shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recommendation or that which isadvised but not required; “may” is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limitsof the standard; and “can” is used to express possibility or capability.
