Scope

This standard specifies the installation inspection, inspection, maintenance and scrapping standards for wire ropes used in cableways. This standard applies to steel wire ropes for passenger and freight aerial ropeways, ground cable cars, and towing ropeways, but not for steel wire ropes for temporary freight ropeways and forestry ropeways.
