Scope

Proposes the adoption of IEC？60898-2:2003 as a joint Australian/New Zealand Standard. Contains essential safety and associated requirements for single-pole and two-pole circuit-breakers which are suitable for operation with divert current and have a rated d.c. voltage not exceeding 220？V for single-pole and 440？V for two-pole circuit-breakers, a rated current not exceeding 125？A and a rated d.c. short-circuit capacity not exceeding 10？000？A. This draft Standard is intended for use in conjunction with IEC？60898-1 (which has been prepared as a revision of AS/NZS？4989:1997). Annex？ZZ lists variations for Australian and New Zealand conditions.
