Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions, shape, weight and allowable deviation, length and allowable deviation, weight and marking examples of cold-formed steel for automobiles. This standard applies to the manufacture of passenger vehicles, freight vehicles, trailers and other vehicles, cold-formed steel strips produced by cold-processed and deformed cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strips on continuous roll-type cold-bending units, hereinafter referred to as section steel.
