Scope

This standard applies to interconnected data processing, data storage and peripheral control equipment and other tightly coupled configuration interface system components. The interface system has the necessary signals to allow various system components to interact, it allows memory and I/O data transfer, direct memory access, interrupt generation, etc. This standard provides a detailed description of all the elements and features that make up the system bus.
