Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for grain inspection sieves. Grain inspection sieves are used in laboratories to detect impurities in grain samples and substances that pass through the inspection sieves of the following specifications. a) Oblong hole inspection sieve 1.00mm×20.0mm; 1.50mm×20.0mm; 1.60mm×20.0mm; 1.70mm×20.0mm; 1.80mm×20.0mm; 1.90mm×20.0mm; ×20.0mm; 2.25mm×20.0mm; 2.50mm×20.0mm; 2.80mm×20.0mm; 3.50mm×20.0mm; 3.55mm×20.0mm b) Diameter of round hole inspection sieve 1.40mm; diameter 1.80mm; diameter 4.50mm The test sieves with oblong holes listed in a) above are mainly used to separate "shrunken kernels" from rye, triticale, durum, common wheat and barley. This does not include inspection sieves with apertures of 1.50 mm and 1.60 mm, which are commonly used for rice grading. It also excludes test sieves with openings of 2.50 mm and 2.80 mm, which are normally used for testing malted barley. A round hole sieve with a hole diameter of 1.40mm was used to separate the debris (small broken rice) from the rice. A round hole sieve with a hole diameter of 1.80 mm is suitable for sorghum. A round hole sieve with a hole diameter of 4.50 mm is used to separate broken kernels from corn.
