- This Part of GB/T 22057 specifies the image distances of objectives, eyepieces and focal lengths of "standard" tube lenses for microscopes with infinity-corrected optical systems. This part of GB/T 22057 is applicable to biological, metallographic and polarizing microscopes whose mechanical tube length is infinite. NOTE: Aberrations are usually corrected for one specific combination of eyepiece, objective, and tube lenses. Therefore, the combination of an objective lens from one manufacturer and a tube lens or eyepiece from another manufacturer, while complying with this standard, may introduce errors in magnification and/or optical performance.
