- This standard specifies the profile, diameter and pitch series, basic dimensions, tolerances, markings and limit dimensions of threads to accommodate galvanized coatings on external threads. This standard applies to hot-dip galvanized threaded fasteners. There is a hot-dip galvanized layer on the surface of the external thread, and the internal thread is tapped after plating.
