Scope

This standard specifies the laboratory test methods for testing the performance of automobile tires in China, including the terms and definitions used in the test, test equipment and precision, test conditions, test procedures, judgment rules and test reports, etc. Of the proposed test methods, only certain test methods need to be applied depending on the type of tire to be tested. This standard includes: (1) Endurance performance test--evaluate the tire's durability performance by running distance under a specified load and a certain speed; (2) High-speed performance test--evaluate the high-speed driving performance of the tire according to the tire speed symbol. (3) Strength performance test--Evaluate the structural performance of the tire by detecting the destructive energy of the tire crown. The test methods listed in this standard are not suitable for grading the performance or quality level of tire products. This standard applies to new pneumatic tires for trucks.
