Scope

This standard covers 8mm width, helical scanning recording, ATT-3 (Advanced Intelligent Tape No.3) format, magnetic tape cartridge, and built-in memory chip, which are used for information exchange between devices and systems such as computers and related peripheral terminal equipment. (hereinafter referred to as a cartridge), specifies the structure, dimensions, physical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, magnetic characteristics, and standard format of information.
