- Scope
- This part of GB/T 19436 specifies the special requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of electro-sensitive protective equipment (ESPE) for mechanical safety protection using active optoelectronic protective devices (AOPDs) for sensitive functions. Particular attention shall be paid to features that ensure adequate safety performance. ESPE may include some optional safety functions, see GB/T 19436.1 Appendix A for requirements on such functions. This section does not specify the size or configuration of the detection area and the layout of any particular application of hazards, nor does it state what constitutes a hazardous state of any machinery. This section is limited to the function of the ESPE and how it is connected to the machine. This section does not include AOPDs using radiation wavelengths outside the range of 400mm to 1500mm. This section may be relevant to those applications for non-personal protection, such as: protection of machinery or products from mechanical damage. In these applications, additional requirements may be required, eg: materials that must be recognized by sensitive functions, have some characteristics different from those of humans. This section does not deal with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) emission requirements.
