Scope: This standard applies to the determination of the hot flame and cold flame autoignition temperatures of liquid chemicals in a uniformly heated container at atmospheric pressure. Note: Under certain conditions, this standard is also applicable to the determination of the spontaneous combustion temperature of solid chemicals, and the requirement is that such solid chemicals have melted and evaporated at a temperature lower than the test temperature. This standard is suitable for measuring and describing the reaction of raw materials and products under controlled conditions in the laboratory, after being heated or flamed, but not for evaluating the fire hazard or risk under actual flame conditions. However, the results of this test method can be used as one of several evaluation factors for evaluating the fire hazard for a particular application.
