Scope: This standard specifies the principles, terms, definitions and symbols of the test method for determining fracture toughness under continuous and slowly increasing tensile loads, samples, test equipment and test procedures, test result processing and test reports. This standard applies to tensile specimens of metallic materials with rectangular cross-sections having semi-elliptical or partially circular surface cracks.
