Scope

This standard specifies the method for dispersing pigments and extender pigments using high-speed impeller mills. This standard is used in conjunction with the evaluation methods of JIS K 5101-5-1 to JIS K 5101-5-3 using a binder system agreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer. See also JIS K 5101-1-1. This method is limited to relatively high viscosity millbases due to high binder concentrations and/or high pigment concentrations that create high shear forces, and provides a means to determine the formulation of real-scale millbases. It's not a thing.
