- This standard specifies the optical, mechanical and radioactive performance requirements and related test methods for radioluminescent powders and coatings of timing instruments. Chapter 3 of this standard applies to all timing instruments containing elements (hands, dials, bezels, etc.) coated with radioluminescent coatings. Chapter 4 of this standard applies to radioluminescent powders, whether they are applied to timing instruments or to special substrates.
