This standard specifies the requirements for determining the maximum power values for engine-propelled craft with a hull length of less than 8 m. For boats to which this standard does not apply, the following shall apply:
——Personal watercraft defined by ISO 13590 (JIS F 1030). —Canoe, kayak. —Inflatable boats as defined by ISO 6185-1 to -3. However, composite inflatable boats (RIBS) that are expected to have a maximum speed of 30 knots or more as specified in Part 3 of the same standard are subject to this standard. —Racingport: A boat designed and built for competition. This standard does not require structural strength with respect to maximum output values, nor does it guarantee safety against instability under all conditions of sea conditions, wind, routes and waves.
