- This standard specifies the principles and methods for the qualification and certification of metrology personnel undertaking weapons and equipment scientific research and production tasks, as well as the general requirements for personnel education, practical experience and qualification examinations. This standard is applicable to national defense science and technology industry metrology assessment institutions engaged in geometric quantity, heat, mechanics, electromagnetism, radio electronics, time frequency, ionizing radiation, acoustics, optics, chemistry and other metrology majors (see Appendix A for the division of metrology major items).
