Scope
This part of GB 21560 specifies the electromagnetic compatibility (EMS) requirements for various power supply units (PSU) with a power level not exceeding 30kW, an AC input or DC input voltage not exceeding 660V, and a DC output voltage not exceeding 250V. The power supply unit operates independently, or is installed in other equipment with adequate electrical and mechanical protection. Many power supply units are used as parts of large-scale equipment involving different EMC standards. The following a) and b) give the power supply classification and the scope of application of the corresponding EMC standards. See Appendix A for detailed classification of power supplies. a) Power supplies intended to operate independently (separate instruments) This standard applies to power supply units developed as units with direct function, especially stand-alone units on the market. b) Component power supplies can be divided into two categories: 1) Component power supplies considered as instruments No further EMC tests are foreseen for its use. This does not include power supply units sold as repair spare parts, which have been tested as part of a complete machine. 2) Component power supplies expected to be used by professional assemblers and installers. This section applies to this type of power supply and is only helpful to meet the relevant EMC requirements specified in different end product standards. Such component power supplies are expected to be incorporated into end products by professional assemblers. These end products may be sold to professional assemblers, or placed on the professional wholesale market. In both cases, the user of the end product does not perform only its own duties. It is assumed that further EMC tests are performed after assembly. The purpose of this part is to specify EMC limits and test methods for power supply units, including limits for electromagnetic emissions that may cause interference to other electronic equipment (such as radio receivers, measuring devices and computer devices), as well as continuous and momentary conducted disturbances and radiated disturbances (including electrostatic discharge) electromagnetic immunity limits. This section specifies the minimum electromagnetic compatibility requirements for power supply units. Compliance with this section does not require additional EMC testing, nor is it necessary to go beyond what is stated in this section.
