Scope

This standard applies to medical ultrasonic diagnostic equipment. This standard determines the requirements for the publication of the following acoustic output information: information provided by the manufacturer to potential purchasers of the equipment in the technical data sheet; information published by the manufacturer in accompanying documents/manuals; requests made by the manufacturer in relevant units Afterwards, background information is provided. This standard gives exemptions from publication for equipment producing low acoustic output levels.
