This standard describes a method for evaluating the color fastness of textiles, of any nature and in all their stages of transformation, to the action of dry heat, excluding ironing. 2 As a rule, three temperatures are foreseen for the tests; the use of one or more of them depends on the needs and stability of the fiber. 3 The method is not applicable to evaluate the color variations that can be produced in finishing with synthetic resins involving heat treatment. If the method is used to evaluate color degradation and discharge during dyeing, printing and finishing processes, the results may be influenced by other chemical and physical factors.
