the identification code for rolling bearings has been developed in order to allow the identification and, as far as possible, the description of each bearing to guarantee complete interchangeability from the point of view of dimensions and functioning. This code establishes a universal language that allows the description and identification of bearings to facilitate relationships between customer and supplier. It is also intended to simplify the user's tasks in handling identical bearings, produced by different manufacturers and bearing different numbers, the meaning of which may be difficult to interpret, given that the various naming systems adopted by the various manufacturers are not identical and generally differ from this code. This code does not contain any indication regarding the various bearing designs available. These indications will be found in the catalogs of bearing manufacturers.
