Establishes, referring to UNI 7475 machine tools. Testing methods, geometric checks and work tests of surface grinding machines with horizontal axis grinding spindle and transversal movement of the workpiece table, as well as; the corresponding tolerances for general purpose and normal precision machines. Reference is made here to machines with rectilinear grinding movements and a movable table, excluding machines with a fixed and rotary table. It deals only with checking the accuracy of the machine. It does not concern either the examination of the functioning of the machine (vibrations, abnormal noises, hard points in the movement of parts, etc.), nor that of its characteristics (speed, advances referred to in UNI 4551), nor that of the dimensional characteristics, tests which must, as a rule, precede that provided for in this standard.
