This unification indicates the procedure for determining the content of free ammonia or other volatile bases in phenolic printed matter, by exposing a reactive paper to the vapors emitted by a powdered test obtained by grinding a sample of phenolic printed matter. This method can be used when a total absence of free ammonia is required.
