Scope

This standard establishes the procedure for determining the hydrolytic resistance of the glass mass (glass reduced to powder) to attack by water at 121 °C. The hydrolytic resistance is inversely proportional to the quantity (release) of extracted alkali expressed in milliliters of 0.01 N HCl titrant.
