UNI 5893-1966 Chemical analysis methods for non-ferrous metal materials. Determination of iron in aluminum and aluminum alloys, replacing UNI 3375. Photometry
General case The method is applicable to the determination of iron contents between 0.05 and 2.50% with the limitations referred to in points 2.2.1. and 2.2.2. 2 Special cases 2.1. Pure aluminium, some alloys with a high silicon content (Si greater than approximately 3%) and all alloys that are difficult to attack by hydrochloric acid. 2.2. Alloys containing copper (contents greater than 5%) or zinc (contents greater than 4%) or nickel (contents greater than 2%), or containing the aforementioned alloying agents in a total content not greater than 5%.
