This unification, in harmony with the principles for the compilation of the rules for the movement of trains referred to in UNI 5190 and the rules for the use of signals referred to in UNI 5648-65, establishes the general criteria to be followed for the location of the main fixed signals1) on railway lines for which the maximum speed permitted is not greater than 120 km/h. These criteria can be modified in a more restrictive sense by particular regulations which for some networks derive from particular characteristics in the structure of the operation.
