UNI 5259-1963 Elastomers: finished products. Flexible hoses for general use. Physico- mechanical tests and environmental treatment on structural elements.
The physical-mechanical tests include: the tensile test on the elastomer; the test of detachment between the layers. Tensile test: the test is carried out according to the methods described in UNI 3789 and UNI 4636. Detachment test between the layers: the procedure to be followed to determine the detachment load is that described in UNI 4915 and UNI 4637. When the textile insertions are of the cord type, i.e. made up of threads wound like a helix, not intertwined, the detachment test between the textile insertions, or between the innermost of these and the underlayer, must be carried out according to the particular procedure which is described in the UNI 5261. If the pipes have reinforcement insertions made up of metal braids or spirals it is not possible to prepare samples for the detachment test. Environmental treatments include; accelerated aging in a stove at 70 degrees cent.; treatment in fuels and oils; exposure of the elastomer to the action of steam. Proceedings.
