This standard applies to electrolytic tinplate supplied in rolls for subsequent cutting into sheets, produced by normal methods of cold rolling and recrystallization annealing treatment OR carried out in a discontinuous (static) or continuous furnace, with nominal rolling width from 500 to 965 mm and nominal thickness from 0.15 to 0.49 mm. It does not apply to products obtained by double reduction nor to products obtained with particular types of annealing. The field of application of this standard can be extended, upon agreement at the ordering, to electrolytic tinplate with width and/or thickness different from those specified in point 1.1. For cold-rolled tinplate in sheets, see UNI 7645.
