- This unification concerns the procedure to be followed to reveal the presence of existing pores in an electrolytic coating on zinc or zinc alloys. 2 - The method is particularly suitable for copper-nickel or copper-nickel-chromium electrolytic layers on zinc alloys. It is not applicable for metal coatings which displace copper from the sulfuric solution used for the test. The method only reveals the pores that affect the entire thickness of the electrolytic layer, i.e. only the pores that reach up to the base metal.
