This standard applies to complete and full transport packaging to verify the resistance or protection it can offer to its contents when stacked. 2 The test can be carried out as a simple test or also as a test forming part of a test cycle with the aim of defining the suitability of a packaging to withstand various tests including the stacking test. 3 The test may also be carried out to establish the behavior of a package under special loading conditions, as in the case of a package placed at the lower end of a stack whereby its bottom rests on a pallet, or when the profile of the load overlapping is eccentric as for example in the case of a stack of packaging supported by a pallet resting on an irregular surface.
