This standard establishes the types and characteristics of impact-resistant polystyrene sheets, both as a finished product and as a semi-finished product intended for further processing. 2 The values of the requirements reported in this standard are to be understood as quality indices for the characterization of the products. These values, in principle, do not lend themselves to being used for design calculations. 3 The requirements included in this standard are those deemed necessary for the characterization and qualification of the products. In some cases, additional requirements may be necessary to identify particular characteristics to be agreed between the customer and the supplier. For guidance, some requirements that may be the subject of such agreements are reported in the appendix.
